New show. New adventures. Lots of buffoonery.
By now many of you caught the first episode of , with hosts actor and gearhead William Fichtner, , and auto scribe Tom "Wookie" Ford. Like the first episode of just about anything, this one was important because the trio had to "break the ice," in terms of both camaraderie and the many motoring adventures they’ll be going on. The Baja driving in the Baja Bugs was cool, as was Wookie’s test drive of the Acura NSX, which then tackled the with MLB pitchter C.J. Wilson at the helm.
Fichtner’s time at the wheel of the Ford F-150 Raptor was also totally worth watching. Of course everyone is a critic with an opinion, but overall we liked what we saw. So far so good. But BBC America has just sent us an exclusive clip for next week’s show that we wanted to share with everyone.
Ever wondered how Top Gear managed to get everything on film, aside from cameras mounted to the cars themselves? It’s called the Ultimate Arm, and there are actually two of them, a heavily modified Cadillac SVX with a massive camera mounted on top for chasing supercars like a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder on regular paved roads, and a 650 hp dune buggy for off-roading shots. Watch them both put through their paces in this exclusive clip of next week’s episode, which will air Sunday, August 6 at 8 pm EST.
