Volkswagen I.D. Crozz Electric SUV Will Arrive In 2020

Back in April at the Shanghai Auto Show, Volkswagen unveiled the Crozz Concept, an electric crossover that will be part of its upcoming I.D. EV range to rebrand VW as a premium electric carmaker. We then saw an , and now Volkswagen has announced that an electric crossover is going into production based on the Crozz Concept which will launch in the US in 2020, most likely with a new name.

To coincide with the announcement, the I.D. Crozz Concept is also making its North American debut at this week’s LA Auto Show alongside the I.D. Buzz and the original I.D. concept hatchback. All three EVs will ride on Volkswagen’s modular electric platform that will underpin 15 EVs the automaker is aiming to launch by 2025. The production-ready I.D. Crozz will be pivotal in launching Volkswagen’s new EV range in America when it goes on sale in 2020. Volkswagen is positioning it as an affordable yet stylish electric SUV, so we’re expecting the production model to retain the four-door coupe-style looks of the concept.

One is mounted on the front axle producing 101 horsepower in conjunction with a 201-hp rear motor, resulting in a combined output of 302 hp and a 311-mile range.
