Findingits inspiration in the 86 Griffon concept, Toyota has unveiled this extremelylimited edition 86 14R60 for Japan. Designated as a 100 unit edition, the carfeatures an aggressive body kit, a new rear wing, center-mounted dual exhaustand 18-inch forged magnesium wheels. The body kit includes a new rear diffuser,carbon-fiber roof, canards, extended fender flares, redesigned side skirts andmodified bumpers. The interior is fitted with sport seats, carbon trim andAlcantara steering wheel.
The 86 14R60 receives modest engine upgrades, with an optimized airintake added to the 2.0-liter four-pot, which continues to produce 197horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque. However, the car's six-speed manual hasbeen upgraded, and now includes a lightweight flywheel, quick-throw shifter andhigh-performance clutch. The 86 also gets bigger brakes and a limited slip differential.Each of the 100 units will cost 6,300,000 Yen ($57,830).
