Would you complain if Audi’s future flagship supercar looked like this?
The future isn’t looking bright for the Audi R8. Reports have suggested and will be . But what will Audi’s next flagship supercar look like? To answer that question, talented artist has designed a render showing us what a "more expensive alternative to an Audi R8,” could look like in the future.
Prisk has incorporated design elements from the existing R8, and while adding some unique cues to create a stunning shape. The front fascia looks like the previous two generations of the R8, with its low-slung nose and an angular grille. Slim LED headlights give the car a sleek, futuristic look, but we’re not sure about the peculiar-looking triangular lamps positioned below them.
Elsewhere, Prisk’s hypothetical halo supercar retains the R8’s distinctive sideblades and features a low roofline and flat rear deck, which would probably reduce visibility. The render artist hasn’t provided any powertrain details for their creation, but the 2019 Audi R8 is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 with 562 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque, while the Performance model increases the output to a respectable 612 hp and 428 lb-ft.
Alternatively, Prisk’s render design could give us an idea what Audi’s rumored electric supercar will look like since it borrows elements from the PB18 E-Tron Concept. Audi is , which is expected to launch around 2022. Replacing the R8’s sweet-sounding V10 will be three electric motors producing a combined output of around 650 horsepower, while a 95 kWh battery will reportedly provide a range of around 300 miles. We certainly won’t complain if the e-tron GTR looks anything like Prisk’s render.
