But sadly can't have.
We were fans of the even before we saw it in the flesh at the Paris Motor Show back in September. The back-to-basics small SUV is a serious off-roader that has no problem challenging far more expensive and supposedly more advanced 4x4s on just about any type of terrain. Now that it’s on sale, (not in America, sadly), aftermarket tuners such as Japan’s Wald International can have a go at making the boxy little SUV even better.
The Suzuki Jimny Black Bison Edition most certainly looks the part of a hardcore off-roader as its styling seemingly combines some Mercedes-Benz G-Class with a Jeep Wrangler Moab Edition. We want one. Badly.
focused entirely on exterior enhancements, including redesigned front and rear bumpers that now incorporate auxiliary LED lights. Because the tuner opted for wider off-road tires instead of the stock rubber, the bumpers and fender flares have become wider. The roof has also been slightly tweaked with an integrated light bar up front and a new spoiler at the rear.
Probably the most obvious changes are the redesigned grille and headlight surrounds that now adapt a look more in line with the also new grille and bumper. Lastly, a slightly altered hood offers some beefy-looking hood scoops.
The final result is a Jimny that looks more aggressive from every angle, though no mention was made of any changes under the hood.
Without question, Wald International, who has yet to announce official pricing, took a page out of the Jeep and Mercedes-AMG styling playbook with this one, but that’s just fine. Because Suzuki hasn’t been sold in North America for a few years now, there’s simply no reason for either of those two brands to feel the pressure of competition. The Jimny isn’t even homologated for the US. But still, we’d love nothing more than to see that change.
