And it wants to crush everything in its path.
Official Hummer H1 production came to an end years ago but there are still plenty of enthusiasts out there, aftermarket tuners and restoration shops included. Mil-Spec Automotive is one of them and it happens to have a huge crush on the H1. It specializes in creating , some of which we’ve covered before, and its latest creation takes bonkers to another level.
Meet the tactical-inspired, blacked-out H1, which is part of the Detroit, Michigan-based company’s new custom lineup that consists of 12 H1s that will be made until 2020. Oh, and this new one happens to cost $295,039.
H1 #006 started life out as a 1994 H1 prior to Mil-Spec completely disassembling and rebuilding it to mint condition. Significant modifications were made, the biggest being its adjustable Air-Ride suspension system. It adds about four inches of ride-height adjustment to increase off-road ground clearance.
The H1’s body is finished in Deep Sky Black with a textured spray-on polyurethane material that’s even infused with Kevlar. This will help fend off brush and shopping-cart scratches. There are also black semi-gloss trim accents for a "murdered-out” effect. Other exterior upgrades include a function hood scoop, heavy-duty bumpers with a 12,000-pound winch, an aluminum offset snorkel, and a windshield-mounted 60-inch LED lightbar.
Under the hood lies a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel with 500 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired to an Allison six-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to a part-time two-speed transfer case. The tough as nails H1 rides on a set of 20-inch Black Rhino Armory wheels wearing 38-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler rubber.
The interior retains its no-nonsense appearance but does have some welcomed creature comforts, including a mix of leather and Tough Duck marine-grade canvas. There’s even a cool Momo steering wheel covered in leather. Mil-Spec is also throwing in a set of tactical-inspired luggage. Based on what we know, Mil-Spec’s sixth creation is still for sale.
