Picture Your Weekends In Honda's Awesome New Motorcycle-Racecar

Honda reveals the Ariel Atom's worst nightmare, and it's street-legal.

Whatcould be better than a high-revving, high-power racer that is street-legal andweighs in at just under 893 lbs? What if it offered all the perks of a motorcycleand the maneuverability of car, but still gave you the perfect excuse to leaveyour passengers behind and tear up the road or track by yourself? The winner ofits Global Design Project, Honda has just revealed the Project 2&4, whichwas designed by its own Asaka motorcycle studio in collaboration with thecompany's Wako automobile design studio. And this is one high-revving reveal.

Atjust 8.9-feet long and 6-feet wide, the lightweight car offers an insanepower-to-weight ratio. It is powered by Honda's 999 cc V4 RC213V four-stroke enginemated to a six-speed dual clutch transmission, with 14,000 RPM, its peak powerof 215 hp arrives at 13,000 RPM. "The exhilarating feeling created fromthe open cockpit is significantly enhanced by the driver's seat, uniquelysuspended just above the road. The ‘floating seat' design places the driver asclose to the action as possible, evoking the freedom of a bike and completingthe immersion provided by Honda Project 2&4's extreme performance".Best of all, it comes with no room for passengers. The car/cycle's reveal will take place at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
