The Stainless Steel package is one of many trim options that can make the G-Class stand out from the crowd.
We’ve already seen the spruced up with various optional trim packages such as the Night Package and the , but now there’s yet another new cosmetic package to add to the list. The latest option for the reborn G-Wagon is the new Stainless Steel Package, which adds an assortment of cosmetic items including side running boards, a spare wheel cover and 3D star, sill protectors, rear bumper accents, and an exterior protective door strip.
As the name suggests, these elements are finished in stainless steel to help you stand out from the crowd. According to , the Stainless Steel package already comes as standard on the AMG G63, but will be offered for the regular G-Class. In the US, only the G550 will be available at launch powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine that sends 416 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The more potent G63, on the other hand, delivers 577 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. It may look like the old model, but the 2019 G-Class is significantly more refined and more capable off-road thanks to an advanced all-wheel-drive system with three adjustable locking differentials.
The Stainless Steel Package comprises of exterior cosmetic upgrades, so options will remain the same for the interior. As standard, the upgraded cabin features a 12.3-inch infotainment system and analogue gauges, though these can be upgraded to a more modern 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. No prices have been announced for the Stainless Steel Package. It’s also still unknown how much the G-Class will cost, but more information should be released closer to the US launch later this year.
