Following its , McLaren has revealed its new 600LT today at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. And in the process, it's finally disclosed its performance specifications in all their spectacular glory. We're gonna skip right to the good stuff here: at 2.9 seconds, it runs to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill as quick as the last model to bear the Longtail name – the . It takes just 2.8 seconds to hit 60 mph, 8.2 to reach 124 mph (200 km/h), and will top out at 204 mph (328 km/h) if given enough road.
So much for the idea of the “entry-level” McLaren. Although it's based on , nearly a quarter of its parts have been replaced. So it weighs less than 3000 pounds: 2,989 lbs with fluids (including a 90% full tank), or 2,749 dry. Of course its curb rating is only half of the power-to-weight ratio. The rest comes from a massaged version of Woking's 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8, tuned to produce 592 brake horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque – all of it sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. And to keep all that power in check, it features carbon-cermic discs at all four corners: 390 mm (with six pistons) at the front, and 380 mm (with four) at the back.
Pirelli custom-designed the P Zero Trofeo R tires to handle the increased downforce and cornerning speeds said to exceed those of the 675LT. Such is the rate of progress at the McLaren Technology Centre. And it all rides on a stiffer suspension that's been dropped 8 mm closer to the tarmac than the 570S. Want to get your hands on one? US pricing has yet to be announced, but in the UK, it carries a tax-in sticker price of £185,500, which includes a day of training as part of the Pure McLaren Road Owner Track Day program. And as if all of this weren't impressive enough, McLaren Special Operations is offering Clubsport and Clubsport Pro packages to take it even further.
