0-62 mph takes just three seconds, putting it in 720S territory.
After , aftermarket tuner Novitec has turned its attentions to spicing up the 570S Spider with stunning results. Adapting the naked-carbon aerodynamic-enhancing components originally developed for the 570S Coupe, Novitec has added a new front spoiler that gives the 570S Spider a more athletic front end, while also enhancing the open-top sports car’s aerodynamic efficiency. The shape of the carbon component was optimized in a wind tunnel to reduce front-axle lift at high speeds.
At the rear, Novitec’s rear spoiler improves the handling stability with contours that were adapted to the sweeping rear end of the 570S Spider.
At the sides, the tuner has added carbon fiber rocket panels that give the car a longer and lower stance. Carbon covers have also been tailor-made for the sides of the rear bumper and the side air intakes to route cooling air to the engine even more precisely than the standard car. Novitec’s modified McLaren 570S Spider rides on lightweight forged wheels, each featuring five double spokes with 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear.
As well as reducing the ride height by around 30 millimeters, Novitec’s sport springs help enhance the handling by making it more direct. This has allowed the open-top sports car to cope with more power under the hood, which the tuner has utilized with three available performance kits extracting more performance from the sports car’s 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8. These enhancements can be activated or deactivated on demand by using the Active Dynamic Panel. When required, the two plug-and-play modules adapted to the ECU provide injection, ignition, and boost pressure control with new mapping in seconds.
At its highest level installed with a high-performance exhaust system, Novitec’s performance kit produces an additional 76 hp of power and 67 lb-ft of torque, bringing the total output to 646 hp at 7,450 rpm and a peak torque of 510 lb-ft at 6,250 rpm. This allows the open-top sports car to do 0-62 mph in three seconds and reach a top speed of 208 mph, which nearly puts it in 720S supercar territory. Throttle response is also more instantaneous while power and torque curve is more potent across the entire rev range. Inside, the cabin has been further refined with seats coated in the finest leather and Alcantara materials with a near-endless range of color choices.
