We haven't seen a deal quite like this before.
If you’re the owner of a Mazda3 sedan or hatchback, then this is something you’ll want to know about. Why? Because offers like this from Mazda don’t happen very often. We’ll get to why we think the automaker has decided to introduce this incentive in a moment, but first, what’s the offer itself? has learned that only earlier this week Mazda began offering owners and lessees of Mazda3s a $750 discount on any variant of the .
It doesn’t matter whether these owners want to buy or lease and the deal can even be transferred to members of their households. Mazda has also notified dealerships this promotion can be combined with an already existing loyalty discount. No trade-in is required. In total, this represents $1,500 in combined savings.
Mazda, like Honda and some other Japanese automakers, is not typically known for offering rebates, so there’s no question this is a good deal. It’s rare for something like this to come up. What’s more, it doesn’t expire anytime soon. Typically, discounts and rebates are offered on a monthly basis. This time, Mazda is making the deal valid until September 3. Okay, so why is Mazda suddenly putting its on sale?
A quick look at its sales figures so far is telling. Only last month, overall Mazda sales dropped by a troubling 15.4 percent in year-over-year figures. The new Mazda3 alone saw a 19.7 percent sales decrease. On top of that, there’s fresh competition.
For example, the new 2020 Toyota Corolla is very impressive in every category and the Honda Civic continues to be a strong alternative. Even so, Mazda is fairly restrained in its approach towards discounts. For example, there are still some left over 2018 Mazda3s sitting around dealership lots, but Mazda isn’t offering any rebates on them. Interestingly, the new 2019 Mazda3 is not being included in Memorial Day offers throughout most of the country.
