The world really does need more ultra-luxury 6x6 off-roaders.
Most people who hate the upcoming Lamborghini Urus SUV seem to hate the car for what it represents. After all, it’s hard to despise an SUV with a (rumored) twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 making 600 horsepower designed by a company that only builds supercars. However, it is easy to hate the fact that Lamborghini has caved to the SUV craze. The Urus isn’t the first SUV from the Raging Bull and it won’t be the last. Here’s hoping Lamborghini’s next SUV is a 6x6 like this one from and designer Mark Smeyers.
The Urus 6x6 is a much more aggressive take on the SUV. It’s a true raging bull if you ask us. The street tires have been swapped out for off-road rubber and the fender flares are much beefier. The ride height has also been jacked up considerably but that’s to be expected of a six-wheeled vehicle designed to eat up any and all terrain. While Smeyers’ design is quite wild we don’t think it’s something Lamborghini would poo-poo off the bat. On the contrary, we could see the automaker doing a limited run of Urus 6x6s. Remember that its first SUV—the LM002, aka the Rambo Lambo—was much less refined than the Urus. Times have changed but .
The G63 AMG 6x6 sold for around $430,000 and over 100 were produced. In fact, . Of course the Urus would need time to establish itself before Lamborghini started whipping out limited-run special editions. But once it starts steadily clocking sales would a 6x6 sold for double (or why not even triple!) the Urus’ base price really be such a bad idea? No, no it would not.
