Jeep Raising New Wrangler Base Price By A Hefty $3,000

Pricing

Anyone really think this will harm sales? No way.

We suspected this was going to happen, but not by nearly this much. According to and its pricing figures, the Sport two-door will carry a base price of $28,190, and that includes the $1,195 destination charge. The current base model stickers for $25,090. Do the math and that’s a $3,100 increase in price. Meanwhile, the four-door Wrangler Unlimited Sport begins at $31,690, compared to the outgoing model’s MSRP of about $27,895.

Despite the price increase, we doubt this will deter many buyers, if any at all. The Wrangler, especially the Unlimited, has been a huge seller for Jeep, both in the US and in many overseas markets. In fact, the Toledo, Ohio production plant was struggling to keep up with demand, an issue that will soon be fixed for the new model. The Wrangler Unlimited in particular has been a smashing success, as it’s regularly outsold its two-door counterpart for the past few years. Now that the base Wrangler models will be going up in price, the same goes for the rest of the lineup. The two-door 2019 Wrangler Rubicon begins at $38,190 while the four-door version starts at $41,690.

In short, the price jump is very likely worth it. Sales are set to get underway early next year.
