Kings and queens now have the perfect car to ride in.
Mercedes recently gave the S-Class for the 2018 model year. Now the company has revealed an updated Pullman, the most luxurious S-Class yet. The previous Pullman was badged the S600, while this new one is called the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Pullman - yes, it's a long name, but matches the extensive amount of luxury in the car. Power comes from a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 producing 630 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque, an increase of 99 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque compared to its predecessor.
0-62 mph in this massive limo takes just 6.5 seconds, though it isn't really the point of the Pullman. Instead, Mercedes says the Pullman is designed for "governments, heads of state and royal families around the world" because it is the best car to "travel in the stately style befitting their status." On the exterior, the Pullman borrows from the Mercedes-Maybach . The front grille looks like it was hand-plucked from the concept car. Finishing off the exterior design is 20-inch wheels with a 10-hole design and more exterior colors to choose from. Mercedes will even offer two-tone paint schemes with new exclusive colors.
Some of the colors available on the 21.3 foot car include: Magma Grey, Mahogany Brown, Silk Beige, and Deep Sea Blue. Stepping inside, rear seat passengers are treated to two standard-specification executive seats facing the direction of travel. Of course, these seats recline and extend and come with Maybach-branded pillows. Mercedes says the Pullman has the largest leg room in the segment. As with previous Pullman models, the four rear occupants sit facing each other with an electrically operated partition. Even with the partition closed, passengers will be able to view traffic via a front-mounted camera system.
Rear seat passengers won't even have to listen to the same music as their driver. The new "2 cabin sound” feature allows for independent control of music for the front and rear passenger compartment. This means rear seat occupants can listen to Mozart while they sip champagne while the driver listens to rock and roll. The S650 Pullman starts at around half a million Euros ($619,000) and orders are open now. If you run a Fortune 500 company or an entire country, this is the car for you.
