Amazingly, the company built a working prototype.

About a year ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk regarding traffic in Los Angeles. His solution - a series of tunnels under the city where cars would hop on an automated tracks and be taken nearer to their destination. Amazingly, the city of , and Musk claimed that the "permits [are] harder than [the] technology." Clearly Musk wasn't joking, because in just one short year, The Boring Company has moved on from a simple concept video to conducting real tests.

The first time we saw The Boring Company in action, it was in a rendered concept video. Now, Elon Musk has retweeted a video from The Boring Company depicting a real Tesla Model X being moved through the tunnel by an automated system. The caption reads "Green lights to Malibu."

Of course, there are still many questions to consider here. How much would these tunnels cost to build, and would cities realistically be able to afford them? And while we are impressed that the company has a working model, it doesn't look nearly as polished as it did in the concept video. Still, we have to give credit to Musk for following through on his idea. No one likes traffic, so any solution that might eliminate it is fine by us. What do you think of The Boring Company?
