From building cutting-edge EVs to designing neck-snapping sports cars, the car designer is a busy man right now.
Henrik Fisker is a very busy man. He arrived at the Shanghai Auto Show in the morning, a couple of hours before delivering a speech as part of the VLF Automotive press conference, and flew out that very same afternoon. Joining these dedicated hardcore sports cars was a pair of SUV brutes in the shape of the – a Colorado-based SUV that’s export only (Chinese farmers and landowners are loving it apparently) – and the Humvee C-Series, essentially a military vehicle for the road packing a LS3 6.2-liter V8 rated at 430 horsepower and built with the blessing of AM General. Out of its factory in Michigan, VLF Automotive also builds the epic . In addition to running VLF with Bob Lutz and Gilbert Villarreal, Henrik Fisker is working on a gorgeous new EV. The is set to be unveiled later this year and a second, more affordable model, is also in the pipeline.
Fisker has also penned a superyacht with Benetti and designed the Viking Concept motorcycle by Lauge Jensen. While the VLF sports cars and SUVs are big, powerful machines, and clear favorites with the crowds at the Auto Shanghai, the E-Motion and subsequent models represent vehicles at the other end of the spectrum.
