Galpin Auto Sports’ 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302-X

The GAS Mustang Boss 302-X is 9 inches wider than the average car.

Show-goers at SEMA are about to get see the first-ever widebody Mustang Boss 302. Designed by Steve Carpenter of Galpin Auto Sports for the annual show in Las Vegas, Nevada, it was hand-built and is an impressive 9 inches wider than the standard Boss 302. Starting under the hood, GAS has added some power to the Mustang's 5.0-liter V8 engine. A ProCharger supercharger system has been added for a total output of around 780hp, up from 440hp.

The one-off Mustang Boss 302-X uses hand-built steel widebody panels by Galpin Auto Sports. Measuring in at 9 inches wider than the standard car, the American muscle car was painted in bespoke one-off matte orange pearl paint was used along with hand-painted graphics on the side of the hood. The interior gets an exterior matching 6-point roll cage and Recaro seats. The whole build sits on a set of 20-inch Forgiato wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero rubbers. The Mustang Boss 302-X by Galpin Auto Sports will debut later this week at the 2011 SEMA Show.
