First Look Inside The 2020 Mercedes E-Class

Expect to see a new steering wheel design and the latest MBUX infotainment system.

It was just over a month ago when we , but development of the updated mid-sized luxury sedan appears to be moving along rapidly.

For the first time, our spies have managed to snap some photos of the interior, and the changes are immediately apparent. The biggest change is the addition of a completely new redesigned steering wheel, which has also been seen inside .

The bottom V-spoke design now flows directly towards the inner edges of the side spokes, which look sharper and are now angled inwards. The wheel’s center hub is also a lot smaller, providing extra visibility for the digital gauge cluster. Elsewhere, we can also see a new touchpad, and, presumably, the .

As for the exterior, the updated E-Class is getting a new front-end design with a new grille and headlights to make it . At the back, the prototype now sports production taillights, although we’re expecting them to cross over into the trunk lid area as they do on the CLS and the new CLA. According to our spies, the prototype doesn’t have the correct truck lid, which is why the rear doesn’t look completely new.
