As of this writing, no public announcement has been made but Corvette Blogger noticed that if one were to look closely at the agenda for next weekend’s events you’ll find there’s something scheduled for 11:30 am Friday, January 25 for the "2019 Corvette Special Edition Announcement at the Chevrolet Experience.” Chevrolet has a history of revealing special edition Corvettes at motorsport events where racing-spec Corvettes compete. For example, just when the C6 generation model was coming to its end back, Chevrolet revealed two special editions in 2013, the 427 Convertible and the 60th Anniversary package.

We don’t know any details about this latest C7 special edition such as which variant it'll be based on or whether it’ll be coupe or convertible (or both), but the timing of the debut makes sense as the torch is set to be passed from one Vette generation to another. Following next Friday’s debut, the next big thing will more than likely be the C8’s arrival sometime this summer.
