Now you can see why Porsche is charging a $100,000 premium over the standard Turbo S.
The all-powerful 911 GT2 RS may have stolen the spotlight at Porsche’s display stand during this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, but that wasn’t the only significant sports car from the German automaker that made its debut at the prestigious show. Also revealed was the new 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series limited to only 500 models, which takes the already potent 911 Turbo S and gives it a generous a bump in horsepower, a host of aerodynamic upgrades and a striking Gold Yellow Metallic finish to justify its astronomical asking price.

New videos give us an insight into the lengthy building process of the ultra-exclusive 911 Turbo S. The first showcases the Exclusive Series being assembled from start to finish, while the second shows the painstaking painting process applied to the 20-inch center-lock wheels. Initially, a technician paints the rim and spokes gold, before they get covered in black.

A laser then burns off the dark paint to reveal the gold shade underneath. The Golden Yellow Metallic paint has carbon fiber stripes, while the ceramic brake rotors have black calipers with gold Porsche logos. Inside, privileged passengers sit in sumptuous 18-way sport seats with double layers of perforated leather upholstery with yellow stripes and stitching. Matching patterns adorn the Alcantara headliner.

With such painstaking attention to detail, it’s no wonder Porsche is charging a $100,000 premium over the standard Turbo S. Powered by a 3.8-liter biturbo flat six with 607-horsepower, the Exclusive Series also packs 27 more horses than the standard Turbo S, enabling it to launch off the line to 62 mph in under three seconds. Don’t be surprised if it becomes a highly sought-after collector’s car in the future.
