This Lamborghini Urus Prototype Is Missing Something Essential

Hopefully this will change.
By the end of next year, the Lamborghini Urus will begin production. There’s a lot of work to do before then, such as fine tuning the SUV on one of the world’s most challenging tracks is one of them. YouTube spotter NM2255 was recently on hand at the Nurburgring to see an Urus test mule go by. It looks plenty fast, but something else is definitely missing: sound. It doesn’t sound like what we know to be Lamborghinis: loud. This Urus is quiet. Too quiet for our liking, and certainly too quiet to be a proper Lamborghini.
Lamborghini has already announced the Urus will come powered by a twin-turbo V8 with 650 hp and, at a later date, a plug-in hybrid variant. Could this Urus prototype be the plug-in?

Possibly, but here’s another theory: because of the Nurburgring’s noise limits, test engineers may have had to muffle the Urus’ exhaust. So perhaps the opposite is true in that the Urus really is gloriously loud but because of noise constraints, this particular one isn’t so. We really hope that’s the case. Expect to see the Lamborghini Urus begin sales in the fall of 2018.
