After two years of development, the production-ready Fenyr SuperSport is finally here.
If you’ve never heard of W Motors, there’s a good chance you’ll have heard of the Lykan HyperSport if you consider yourself a car enthusiast. Limited to only seven units, the Lykan HyperSport is notable for being the first ever Middle Eastern supercar. It's also know for its jewel-embedded headlights and appearing in Furious 7 where it performed a preposterous stunt smashing through multiple skyscrapers. A couple of years ago, W Motors unveiled its successor, the Fenyr SuperSport, as a concept.

After two years of development, the final production-ready model has made its world debut at a private opening event held at W Motors’ new flagship showroom in Dubai. Powering the SuperSport is a RUF-tuned 4.0-liter flat six-cylinder Porsche motor that’s been tuned to produce a gargantuan 800 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 722 lb-ft of peak torque at 4000 rpm. 0-62 mph takes just 2.7 seconds and all that power is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox to get the SuperSport to a top speed of 249 mph. Thanks to a lightweight carbon composite body and a tubular aluminum chassis, the SuperSport has an estimated curb weight of just 1350 kg.

It rides on lightweight forged alloys, with 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the back. Giving the supercar ample stopping power are 6-piston aluminium mono-bloc calipers with carbon ceramic cross drilled brakes. Like the HyperSport, production of the SuperSport will be strictly limited. More will be produced than the HyperSport though, with production capped to 25 units each. Whereas the HyperSport is W Motors’ flagship hypercar, the SuperSport is positioned as the company’s entry-level supercar. At $1.85 million, its asking price isn’t exactly entry-level – for that price you could buy several Ferrari 488 GTBs and still have some spare change.

Located in the premium district of City Walk, Dubai, the new flagship showroom exhibits the latest cars from W Motors and its sister Iconiq Motors, and also offers “a social hub for car enthusiasts to learn more about supercars as well as the future of electric mobility and disruptive autonomous applications.” The Lykan Hypersport was also on display alongside the SuperSport at the event. Also making its regional debut was the Iconiq Model Seven in both Premium VIP editions following its debut at this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, an electric long-range vehicle targeting the high-end Chinese market.
