We think you'll agree it’s the perfect partner to Block's Ford Escort RS Cosworth rally car.
Ken Block certainly seems to have a penchant for vintage Fords right now. His most recent Gymkhana videos have featured him torturing the tires of the 1,400-hp Hoonicorn V2 based on a 1965 Ford Mustang. More recently, he acquired a Group A rally-spec Ford Escort RS Cosworth and wasted no time burning copious amounts of rubber performing some impressive all-wheel-drive donuts.
And now he’s added yet another feisty Ford to his collection: a 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution, famous for competing in the gruelling Group B rally.

We’ll get to see both cars in action when Gymkhana 10 is eventually released next year. Until then, Block gives us a closer look at his new RS200 in the latest episode of Hoonigan’s Daily Transmission. Block even regards the Ford RS200 as his favorite car of all time. Originally, the Ford RS200 was specifically built for the Group B era of rallying in the 1980s.

200 were made for homolgation purposes. Unlike other cars that competed in Group B, the RS200 was built from the ground up and wasn’t based on an existing production road car. Over 30 years later, its stunning Ghia-designed styling (not Pininfarina as the guys say) still doesn’t look dated. Ford entered the RS200 in the 1986 Group B rally championship, but the season was abruptly cancelled due to safety concerns after several drivers were killed. Ford was planning to introduce an even more powerful Evolution variant the following year to compete in Group B. Only 24 RS200s were converted to Evo Spec, each packing a 2.4 liter mid-mounted engine delivering 700 horsepoewr on road gas and 800 hp on race gas.

It takes a brave man to tame this monster - even Block looks scared as the turbo kicks in. And this is the man that drifted along the edge of Pikes Peak without breaking a sweat. Block had his RS200 finished in flat black to match his other Hoonigan creations. He also added gloss black racing stripes as a homage to the original team racing livery.
