Leaked photos gives us a first look inside the h cabin of the new G-Class.
The all-new Mercedes G-Class will make its world debut in Detroit early next year in January. While it will still retain the SUV’s signature boxy shape, it will mark the off-roader’s first major redesign in nearly 40 years since it first launched in 1979.
New details about the new G-Class recently emerged suggesting that it will be built on a modified version of the current model’s ladder frame chassis. Not only will it be significantly lighter thanks to its aluminium body structure, it will also be substantially more luxurious than its predecessor.

New leaked photos posted by Dutch website shared by gives us a first look inside the off-roader’s h cabin, indicating that the new G-Class will offer S-Class levels of luxury. The leaked photo shows the G-Class equipped with a widescreen infotainment screen and metallic trim. Like the S-Class, the G-Class’s dashboard adopts a clean design with a minimal number of buttons, and metallic button controls have also been added to the steering wheel. Differentiating the G-Class are more outlandish metallic vent surrounds to signify its rugged abilities. Insiders have claimed that the technology fitted to the G-Class will make it future-proof well into the second half of the next decade.

This isn’t surprising considering how long the current model has lasted. A lot of the electronic architecture will also be shared with the luxurious S-Class, so you can expect to see many of the flagship sedan’s advanced driver assists carry over to the off-roader. According to Mercedes, the move to an aluminium construction has helped the new G-Class reduce its kerb weight by 160 kg in comparison to the current steel-bodied model, while providing a 30 percent increase in torsional rigidity. It will also benefit from a widened chassis with new front suspension as well as adjustable damping. Rear legroom has also been increased by 150 mm in its standard wheelbase guise.

A new range of engines are expected to power the next G-Class, including AMG’s latest turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 gasoline unit with a new nine-speed automatic gearbox and a range-topping G63 model 602-hp and 367 lb-ft of torque.
