And this one is for the US only. Take THAT Europe.
It seems like every time that BMW unveils a new special edition M3, it is only available for Europe. This is exactly what happened with the E90 M3 and F10 M5 M Performance Editions, which were only available in the UK. Likewise, the US never got the extremely rare M3 CRT, which was limited to just 67 units. This trend stretches way back to cars like the E46 M3 CSL and E30 M3 Evo, so we were a bit surprised when BMW brought a special M3 to this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas. This M3 was built to celebrate the car's 30th anniversary in the US.

This car is not to be confused with the M3 Jahre Edition, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the M3 overall. That car was pretty limited, with just 500 units produced, but this new M3 30 Years American Edition is a one-of-one. The car is painted in Frozen Red II, with black accents. The color is meant to harken back to the Henna Red color that was available on the E30 M3. The interior sports a white and blue combination for a full red, white and blue US flag theme. The car started off as an M3 Competition Package with a six-speed manual, which was transformed into this stunning one-off. The gold rims are one-off M Performance alloys (763M Style, 19-inch front, 20-inch rear).

The gold color is inspired by the M3 E30 Warsteiner DTM racing wheels. The American flag inspired interior consists of BMW Individual Opal White Merino leather, red stripes made from Mugello Red Merino leather and Fjord Blue Merino leather. There is also red, white and blue contrast stitching to bring it all together. Even the suspension has shock absorbers with contrasting red coil springs from M Performance parts. There is also a big, carbon fiber wing on the back, which further shows off its performance.
BMW rounded off the options with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and a valve controlled M Performance exhaust system with titanium rear silencer.

Unfortunately, BMW will only build one example of this special edition for $128,635 $995 in destination fees. The car is expected to be sold after SEMA, but we doubt that this rare car will be sold for its MSRP price.
