Because this is what it was built for.
One of the perks of owning a Lamborghini Huracan Performante is the ability to take part in driver’s training courses at some of the finest circuits in the world. The Nurburgring is perhaps one of the most challenging and dangerous. Fortunately, the Huracan Performante has spent an extensive amount of time at the Green Hell. After all, it previously owned the Ring lap record time of 6:52.01. This has just been beaten by the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS with its insane 6:47.3 run. But still, the Huracan Performante is brutally fast.
It’s a good thing owners are being given proper instruction because otherwise, well, let’s not go there. Regular Nurburgring spotter Automotive Mike managed to film brilliant footage of a Huracan Performante at a driver’s training event called .
This is a four-day long course that helps drivers in all areas of vehicle control and improving one’s driving style. Professional drivers serve as instructors, but there’s also free time on the track where owners can put their newly developed skills to the test. That’s just what the Huracan Performante driver is doing. With its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 making 631 hp at 8000 rpm and 443 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm, Lamborghini claims a 0-62 mph time of just 2.9 seconds. Top speed is more than 202 mph. But the Nurburgring isn’t about top speed and quick sprints. It’s about skill and control. Considering Porsche has just topped Lamborghini for that Ring lap record time, chances are the Raging Bull will be back to reclaim its crown.
