These Cars to Fetch Over $1M at Amelia Island Auction

RM Auctions presented some phenomenal autos for grabs at the luxurious resort island.

Amelia Island is used to hosting some of America’s mostaffluent and honorable guests at its white-glove resorts and beautiful sandy beaches. But at Saturday’s RM Auctions event on the island, the guests grabbingthe most attention were these outstanding classic cars - all of which wereexpected to fetch more than one million dollars when they crossed the block.While final numbers have yet to be released, these are some of the finest autosthat went on sale yesterday.

Thefirst was this 1928 Bugatti Type 37A Grand Prix, with a 90-hp, 1.5-litersupercharged inline-four engine, priced between $900,000-$1,300,000. In the same pricerange was a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 R with 17 straight wins from 1968–1969.Shadowing those numbers, a 1957 Mercedes 300 SL Roadster originally owned by Natalie Wood was going for$1.4-$1.7 million. Another whopping offerwas a 1958 BMW 507 Series II Roadster with a single ownership since 1972,crossing the block for $1,400,000-$1,800,000. Also topping out at $1.8M was a1961 Ferrari 250 GT Series II Cabriolet, designed by Pininfarina.
