The Maserati Levante was introduced in 2017 and is the marque’s first SUV. For the 2019 model year, a new turbocharged range-topping V8 Trofeo edition was announced. Producing 590 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque from a 3.8-liter twin turbo V8, the SUV sends its power to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance levels are sensational with 60 mph arriving in 3.7 seconds, top speed is an impressive but untestable 187 mph. The base price of the Trofeo starts at $169,950 and it comes well-specced as you would expect with only a handful of options available such as black window surrounds, dark finish taillights and a variety of paint and leather colors. All-season tires, a heated sport steering wheel and piano black roof rails are no cost extras. Aimed to compete with the top-tier sports SUVs, the Trofeo is dynamically adept but has limited cargo space and poor fuel economy.
